RAC car breakdown recovery is the 2 largest provider of breakdown cover in the UK covering a massive 7 million people against breakdowns. RAC breakdown is part of the Aviva group who also own Norwich Union.
RAC cover works slightly differently to the AA breakdown cover in part they offer slightly differenbt levels of service.
The basic service is Roadside assistance - this means that an RAC breakdown patrol member will come to your assistance if you are away from home or a minimum of 1/4 of a mile from your home.
WIth RAC cover you can then bolt on additional options to this. You can add at home cover to your package as well which will means that if you car does not start at home the RAC will come out and fix it.
The final add on you can purchase is natiowide recovery which means that if you breakdown you the RAC will pick you up and take you and up to 7 people to a destination anywhere in the UK.

The RAC claim to have more patrol cars than any other rescue organisation - 1650 patrol cars on the road and they aim to reach you winin 40 minutes of your call.
They also offer a 10% No call out discount - which means they price will be reduced if you make no call outs in the year.
There is also free accident care, which means if you do have an accident you have free access to an RAC approves solicitor.
